Ang daldal ko talaga, hmp!

Alam nyo ba yung feeling na parang wala kayong kagana gana sa lahat ng bagay? Yun bang parang walang excitement ang buhay nyo? Yan, yan ang nararamdaman ko ngayon. Ganyan ang nararamdaman ko pag disappointed ako o kaya pag asar ako. Wala lang, nakaka asar lang ngayon. Sabagay kasalanan ko naman kase at may sinabi pa ako. Kung tumahimik na lang siguro ako wala sigurong problema.

Ano na naman ba ginawa ko? Wala lang, sinabi ko lang naman na yung isang katrabaho namin hindi mahilig tumulong at nasabi ko lang naman yun dun sa close friend nya. O davah! Yan kasi ang daldal ko. Pero kung tutuusin, e ano naman nga, sa totoo naman yung sinabi ko? Ang mali ko lang, bat pa kasi ako nagsalita? Eto ngayon ako nag aalala na baka sabihin nya yun dun sa taong yun.

Minsan tuloy nasasabi ko sa sarili ko, bat ba kasi ako nagpumilit na magtrabaho pa kung pede naman ngang nasa bahay na lang ako at kasama yung anak ko. Kung nasa bahay na lang siguro ako, malamang hindi ko naeencounter tong mga work-related issues na to. Pero naman, pag nasa bahay lang ako, aba baka naman mabaliw din ako. Nakaka aning din kaya kung nasa bahay ka lang. Yun lang ang buhay mo, araw araw. Yoko din ng ganun.

Ngayon namang may trabaho na ako, wala na akong ginawa kundi magtrabaho at mag aral. Minsan talaga dapat mag ingat tayo sa mga wishes natin, kasi hindi mo alam kung kaya mong i-handle yung mga wishes mo once na nagkatotoo.

Imahe

Nag-iba na ang imahe ko sa trabaho simula nung natanggap ako. Una, tuwang tuwa sila sa akin kasi nga masipag ako, tapos gustung gusto pa ako ng mga pasyente. Kaya lang, sadyang ganun yata talaga sa trabaho, kung dati hindi mo makita yung mga flaws, sooner or later, makikita at makikita mo rin.

Hindi naman sa pagmamayabang, simula nung natanggap ako, tumaas ang score ng department namin. At may proof ako jan. Within four months na pinagtrabaho ko as HMSR, tatlong beses nang nabanggit yung name ko sa survey as an outstanding HSMR. Who does that? Ako lang, charing! E sa totoo naman. Wala sa mga katrabaho ko ang nabanggit ang pangalan sa survey ng sunod sunod halos kada-buwan. Kahit nga yung isang nagsasabing sya ang the best HSMR e ni hindi ko nabalitaang nabanggit yung pangalan sa survey. Iba lang talaga ang dating ko, charing!

Anyway, nakakaasar lang sa trabaho ngayon kasi napaka inconsistent ng mga bosses ko. Iba iba sila ng mga sinasabi. Tulad kagabi, kakainis. Matagal akong bumibili ng mga tirang pagkain sa trabaho sa halagang $1. Bakit kamo ang mura? Kasi nga itatapon lang naman nila yun kinabukasan. Yung isang supervisor nga hindi na ako pinagbabayad pag sya ang naka assign sa araw na yun e. Tapos kagabi yung supervisor ko aba sabi ba naman daw $4 ang dapat kong ibayad sa tira tirang pagkain na gusto ko lang namang iuwi kasi ayaw kong masayang!? Ano ko bale? At ano sya hilo? Kahit nga sya hindi kakainin yung tira tirang yun e tapos gusto nya ako pagbayarin ng $4?! Sa inis ko, sinoli ko nga yung resibo at nagpa-refund ako. Buset na yan ang epal. Samantalang yung ibang mga katrabaho ko minsang nga $0.25 lang binabayad sa isang bag na pagkain, hindi pa tira tira yung mga yun ha.

Hay nako, anyway, isa lang yan sa mga nakakabuset na kaepalan ng bisor ko. Eto pa isang nakakaasar. Meron silang policy na bawal mag absent sa weekend. Kasehodang maaksidente ka, o magkasakit ka, o tamaan ka ng kidlat, dapat pumasok ka pa rin. Pag hindi ka pumasok, write-up agad ang katapat mo. Bakit daw ganun? E kasi daw, short-handed na sa weekend, so pag may nag absent pa, e mas lalong short-handed. At eto pa ang mas nakakaasar. Nagrequest ako kung pede bang every weekend na lang ako magtrabaho kasi nga pumapasok ako sa school pag weekdays. Aba, ang sabi ba naman sa akin, hindi daw pwede kasi daw baka may magreklamo at magsabing bakit daw si ganito kada weekends pumapasok. Teka, sino ba may gustong pumasok kada weekends? Di ba karamihan naman e gustong magpahinga kada weekends? Kahit ako kung pwede lang noh, ayokong pumasok kada weekends! Kaya lang naman ako nagrequest na pumasok kada weekends lang kasi nga dun lang ako available. Hindi sa gustung gusto kong pumasok ng weekends, susmio. Nakita nyo ba yung logic? Sabagay wala naman nga sigurong logic. Ang point ko lang e kung short-handed sa weekend, e di mag-schedule ng enough na workers. At yung mga sa weekend lang available, e di yun ang i-schedule sa weekend. O di ba, para masaya lahat.

Minsan talaga sa trabaho may mga policies and procedures na confusing at walang sense. At kung dati positive ang tingin nila sa akin, ngayon negative na. Okay lang, kung disappointed sila sa akin kasi pino-point out ko yung mga flaws ng department, mas disappointed ako sa kanila kasi napaghahalatang wala silang clue kung pano magpatakbo ng department.

500 calories of junk

I can't believe that I just ate 500 calories of junk! Grabe gutom na gutom kasi kami ng anak ko pagkagaling namin sa school tapos pagdating namin ng bahay e walang pagkain. Susme napagdiskitahan ko tuloy yung isang de-lata sa cabinet. Huli na nung mabasa ko yung label na 500 calories pala yung laman ng isang lata! Punyeta!

Ano na naman ba ang gagawin ko? Panigurado bloated na naman ako nito mamaya. Makapag juice na nga lang. Eto share ko lang sa kung sino mang baliw na nagbabasa ng blog ko yung mga recipes ko ng juice.

Kelan lang kasi e nakalibre ako ng juicer sa Amazon. Maliit lang yung juicer, hindi heavy duty, pero okay na okay na, libre naman e.

So far, ilang beses na naman akong nagju-juice, ang pinaka da-best na juice na nagawa ko e yung combination ng cucumber at carrots, cucumber at melon, at tsaka yung carrots at apples. Sabagay, yan pa lang naman kasi ang nata-try ko nyahahahaha. Pero grabe ansarap! Kung ganito kasarap mag-detox aba e kahit araw araw magde-detox ako.

Actually, kung may garden lang siguro ako, malamang mag juice fasting ako for a month. Hindi ko lang to magawa ngayon kasi nga sobrang mahal ng gulay dito. Ngayon ko tuloy nami-miss ang pinas. Dun kasi wantusawa ka sa gulay. Doon, pag gulay lang ang ulam nyo, ibig sabihin dukhang dukha na kayo, kawawang kawawa, aping api, at kung ano ano pa. Susme, hindi lang alam ng mga nasa pinas, yun ang pinaka-healthy na lifestyle.

Hosia jan na muna kayo at makainom na ng carrot cucumber juice :)

wala lang na naman...

Eto na naman ako, nagsisimula ulit mag-blog. Hay naku, ilang beses ko na bang ginawa to? At kada na lang gagawin ko to, palagi ko ding iiwan? Sa umpisa lang naman ako masipag e, tapos after 2 or 3 posts iiwan ko na lang basta. Walang kwenta. Ang tamad ko kayang magsulat ngayon. Ewan ko ba. Siguro kasi sobrang busy ako sa buhay namin dito.

Iba ang buhay dito sa America. Pag hindi kayo mayaman, wala na kayong ibang gagawin kundi magtrabaho. Sa kaso naman namin, wala na kaming ginawa ng asawa ko kundi magtrabaho, mag aral, mag alaga ng bata, maglinis ng bahay, magluto, maglaba, etc. Kung tutuusin, mas maganda pa yung buhay ko sa pinas. Dun, pede kang kumuha ng katulong. Hay nako.

Minsan nakaka asar na ring maging dukha. Nakakasawa na yung walang pera. Kaya minsan hindi ko masisi yung iba kung bat ginagawa ang lahat para lang magkapera e. Hindi ko naman gusto na magkaroon kami ng limpak limpak na salapi noh! Ang gusto ko lang e tumama sa lotto nyahaahhaha. Punyeta nakaka aning! Oo naaaning na rin ako kasi wala pa rin akong pahinga.

Walang time mag relax. Konting babad lang sa internet gigising na si baby. Marinig lang na nagta-type ako e magigising na. Palagi na lang akong nasa trabaho at nasa school. Lumalaki ang anak ko ng hindi ko namamalayan. Nakakalungkot. Pero ang iniisip ko na lang, pag nakatapos akong mag aral at nakapagtrabaho ng maayos ang sahod, para rin sa kanya to.

Nakakatuwa lang yung anak ko kasi ang cute. Oo na kamukha ko yung anak ko, pero ewan ko ba, cute na cute ako sa anak ko, e hindi naman nga ako cute. Wala e, ganun yata talaga pag anak mo. Kahit kamukha mo e cute na cute ka pa rin.

Anyway, para dun sa nagbabasa ng blog ko, parang sinasayang nyo lang yung time nyo sa totoo lang. Wala naman kaseng kwenta kadalasan sinusulat ko dito e. Pero salamat pa rin sa pagdaan.

Lentek anong oras na naman. Makaligo na nga at ng makatulog na rin. Buti na lang wala akong pasok bukas. Wooohooo!

Pinoy Recipe - Ginisang Mungo



This is my first time cooking this Pinoy recipe with Nunnie. I was a little hesitant because it's vegetable and he doesn't like vegetable that much. And if he does not like it, then it means I will have to eat this ginisang mungo by myself. But luckily after smelling the aroma from the sauteed pork and shrimp, he finally said the magic words, "it smells good," which means, I am don't have to worry about this food being thrown away.

This ginisang mungo is just a very ordinary food in the Philippines. I guess everybody knows how to cook this. We just filmed the cooking of ginisang mungo for the sake of those Non-Filipino viewers who wants to try Pinoy recipes. And I have also shared a little secret that can make the taste of this Pinoy recipe even better (although not very healthy) which is the addition of the fried pork skin or what we call chicharon. My mother does not even add chicharon to her ginisang mungo. I just got that secret from my aunt who lives in Pasig City. Thanks Tita Myrna! And I tell you what, her ginisang mungo won't last very long on the table. And she would put probably 3 times the bag of pork skin than what I have put on mine on the video. And also, the quality of pork skin really does affect the flavor of the ginisang mungo. When I was still living with them, I would eat ginisang mungo just because of the pork skin. It's that good.

Also, I personally like ginisang mungo with lots and lots of shrimps. I can even eliminate pork but not shrimp. I guess it's because shrimp is quite expensive in the Philippines that I was not able to really indulge myself with that. But here, luckily, it is not be cheap, but it's relatively affordable. I am just so glad that Nunnie likes it. I wish I can also share everything that I cook to whoever watch the Pinoy recipe videos because every time we cook, it's always a lot. And I won't mind sharing it with everybody.

Pinoy Recipe - Inihaw na Liempo



Have you heard Anthony Bourdain said that we, Pinoys, have the best pig? He meant that the Philippines has the best lechon in the world. Well guess what, I just heard something like that from Nunnie after I served him this really mouthwatering inihaw na liempo. He said that so far, the inihaw na liempo was the best grilled meat he has ever had. And that makes me really proud of myself because I made it. He also said that if we can, we should marinate and grill our meat just like this every time we want some grilled meat.

Inihaw na liempo is a very popular food in the Philippines. You can see this being cooked and sold on every street of Manila, Cubao, Pasig, everywhere. It may not be healthy to eat this all the time, but sometimes, due to the distinctive taste of this inihaw na liempo (especially the ones with lots of fat) you just can't help it. I remember when I was still in Pasig, I would purposely standby near the grill when somebody is grilling some barbecue or any kind of street foods because I wanted to smell the smoke. I didn't mind smelling like grilled food because it's actually not bad.

Inihaw na liempo taste really good but be careful not to eat this everyday. Especially the ones with lots of fat. It is not healthy. It's okay to indulge with this once in a while, but you've got to be careful. And not just for inihaw na liempo. I guess you should try to be careful with everything that you eat. Take me as an example. I am trying my best to watch my food intake, but sometimes, when the food is as good as inihaw na liempo and when you are pregnant (of course that's a perfect excuse) you just can't help but satisfy your cravings.

Pinoy Recipe - Grilled Jalapeno Potatoes




This is not considered a Pinoy recipe but I still want to include this recipe on this blog because it was Nunnie who made this. See, Nunnie can cook too. I was surprised that this grilled jalapeno potatoes turned out really good. It's just a little too spicy for me. But of course, you can adjust the seasoning according to your preference. You can even add green bell peppers and chopped onion to further enhance the taste. I have tried it. If you don't want to put it in a grill, then you can also put it in the oven. But since we were doing Inihaw Na Liempo at that time, then why not cook the potatoes with the marinated pork belly meat?

Grilling this potatoes with the marinated pork belly meat plus the smoke from the charcoal really added a very nice flavor to the potatoes. It was like grilled potatoes with a very subtle hint of the pork marinade. It was delicious. And the good thing about this not-so-Pinoy-recipe is that it's very flexible. You can actually season your potato however you want. But I really encourage everyone who are planning on trying this recipe to add some green bell peppers and chopped onion because I have tried it and I promise you won't be disappointed.

For those who are health conscious, you can substitute butter with extra virgin olive oil and still get the same good flavor. I know that some of you would think that me and Nunnie are not really health conscious. Believe it or not, we are. It's just that sometimes, it's hard to control ourselves from indulging in some tasty food. Just like what Nunnie said, he did not get fat by eating healthy foods. And round is a shape too you know. We will try to cook healthy food next time.
